NOTICE OF PASSING – Staff Sergeant (Retired) Cassandra Gould

It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of SSG (Ret) Cassandra Gould, of Frederick, Maryland. SSG (Ret) Gould passed away on 11 July 2023. She was 62 years old.

 

Cassandra Ann Gould was born on February 7, 1961, in Hamilton, Ohio, to James Reid Sr. and Frankie Mae Reid. After graduating from Central State University, she joined the US Army JAG Corps in 1985, serving for over 22 years as a paralegal before retiring in 2007. Her military assignments included Legal NCO, Fort Campbell, KY; Battalion Legal NCO, Fort Clayton, Panama; Military Linguist, Port Au Prince, Haiti; Legal NCO, USALSA; NCOIC, Military Claims Service, Korea; NCOIC, US Armed Forces Claims, Korea; and Criminal Law NCO, Brigade Legal Center NCOIC, Claims Division NCOIC, Administrative Division NCOIC, and Legal Operations Center NCOIC with the 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), Fort Drum, NY.

 

Upon retirement, Ms. Gould served as a federal civilian employee, with time spent at Fort Drum, NY, and the Department of Agriculture, before she joined the Fort Detrick Office of the Staff Judge Advocate, serving her fellow Soldiers as a Legal Assistance Technician.

 

SSG (Ret) Gould is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Gould, and her sisters, Dee and Rebekah Reid. A graveside service was held at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Frederick, Maryland, where military honors were rendered. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Black River American Legion, Post 673, 113 E. Dexter Street, Black River, NY 13612.
