Announcement of the Confirmation of Colonel Terri J. Erisman to Brigadier General 


I am pleased to officially announce, pursuant to her nomination by the President, that the United States Senate has confirmed Colonel Terri J. Erisman for promotion to Brigadier General, after which she will assume the duties of Commander, The Judge Advocate General's Legal Center and School.

Colonel Erisman has contributed 25 years of dedicated service to our Army and our Nation. She has excelled as a lawyer and a leader in challenging and diverse assignments in our Regiment. Colonel Erisman has served with distinction as a Staff Judge Advocate on three occasions, starting with 1st Special Forces Command (Airborne), Fort Liberty, North Carolina, during which she deployed as the Staff Judge Advocate for Special Operations Joint Task Force (Operation Inherent Resolve). She later served as the Staff Judge Advocate for 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, and most recently as the Staff Judge Advocate for III Armored Corps, Fort Cavazos, Texas. Colonel Erisman’s other assignments include Executive Officer to The Judge Advocate General, Office of The Judge Advocate General (OTJAG), Pentagon; Deputy Chief, Personnel Plans & Training Office, OTJAG, Pentagon; Director, Center for Law and Military Operations, The Judge Advocate General's Legal Center and School, Charlottesville, Virginia; Deputy Staff Judge Advocate, 8th Theater Support Command, Fort Shafter, Hawaii; Chief, Administrative Law, XVIII Airborne Corps, Fort Liberty, North Carolina; Chief, Criminal Law, Multi-National Corps, Iraq (Operation IRAQI FREEDOM), Appellate Attorney and Court Commissioner, United States Army Legal Services Agency, and Trial Counsel, Administrative Law Attorney, and Legal Assistance Attorney, 21st Theater Sustainment Command, Mannheim, Germany.

Colonel Erisman received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Seton Hill College, a Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a Master of Laws in Military Law from The Judge Advocate General's Legal Center and School, and a Master of Science in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College. She received a Direct Commission to the JAG Corps in 1998.
