I am pleased to officially announce, pursuant to her nomination by the President, that the United States Senate has confirmed Colonel Natalie L. Lewellen, an officer in the Army National Guard, for promotion to Brigadier General in the Reserve of the Army.

Colonel Lewellen has contributed 33 years of dedicated service to our Army and Nation. Her career demonstrates sustained excellence as an enlisted Soldier and Judge Advocate. Natalie currently serves as the Army National Guard Directorate Judge Advocate, National Guard Bureau Office of the General Counsel, Arlington, Virginia.  

Her previous military assignments include Kentucky National Guard Staff Judge Advocate (SJA), Joint Force Headquarters, Frankfort, Kentucky; Investigator, Office of Complex Investigations, National Guard Bureau Office of Complex Investigations, Arlington, Virginia; Deputy SJA, Administrative Law Attorney, and Defense Counsel, Joint Force Headquarters, Frankfort, Kentucky; Command Judge Advocate, 149th Brigade Combat Team, Louisville, Kentucky; and Trial Counsel, 75th Troop Command, Fort Knox, Kentucky.  

Her multiple operational assignments include Deputy Legal Advisor, Operation Enduring Freedom, Pristina, Kosovo; Military Justice Chief, Operation Enduring Freedom, Camp Bondsteel, Kosovo; and Legal Assistance Chief, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Balad, Iraq.  

Colonel Lewellen received a Bachelor of Science in Law Enforcement from Eastern Kentucky University, a Juris Doctor from Northern Kentucky University, and a Master of Science in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College. She received a direct commission to the JAG Corps in 2003.
