The 80th Legal Assistance Course (LAC) will be held be held 28 July – 1 August 2025 at The Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center and School (TJAGLCS) in Charlottesville, VA.  

This 4.5 day in-person course—one day longer than in previous years—is designed primarily for legal assistance attorneys and paralegals to stay current on recent developments in law and policy, while also offering deep-dive instruction into core legal assistance practice areas.  

Students may be eligible for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit, depending on their state bar requirements.  

Prospective students should coordinate with their legal administrator or Schools NCO to enroll via ATRRS.

If no slots are available, the legal administrator should place the student on the ATRRS waitlist. No virtual option is available for this course.

Prerequisites: Attendees must be U.S. Government-employed Judge Advocate Legal Services personnel currently serving or pending assignment in legal assistance. Students must not have attended the course in the past three years.
