On May 1, 2025, members of the Joint Base San Antonio - Fort Sam Houston legal community participated in Law Day festivities, including PT, an LPD, and a picnic.  The Fort Sam Houston Legal "Team of Teams" consists of 3 General Court-Martial Convening Authorities (U.S. Army North, U.S. Army South, and the Medical Center of Excellence) and several other units.  Happy Law Day!

Ms. Stacie Thornhill was awarded the Fort Benning Office of the Staff Judge Advocate's 2025 Liberty Bell Award. This award is given annually to a non-lawyer for his or her outstanding public service and community involvement. Ms. Thornhill has served in and for the JAG Corps for approximately 35 years both on active duty and as a civilian. Her dedication to her craft is admirable. She currently works for the Office of the Special Trial Counsel, Third Circuit. She is pictured here with other members of the circuit to include CPT Gabby Bloodsaw, MAJ Morghan Beaudoin, and SSG Gabi Nunez.

SGT Samuel Shon, XVIII ABN Corps, was one of the first Soldiers in line to donate blood at the Fort Bragg Blood Donor Center during the Fort Bragg Law Week Blood Drive. Armed Services Blood Program products are used for patients of all ages for many reasons—from cancer patients to those with battlefield injuries. Military members and their families depend on blood donors every day.

COL Jeffrey Thurnher, Staff Judge Advocate, USARC, and COL Sue McConnell, Staff Judge Advocate, XVIII ABN Corps, donate blood during the Fort Bragg Law Week Blood Drive. Donors from OSJAs across Fort Bragg stepped up to make the blood drive a success. 

The ASBP is a Defense Health Agency program comprised of dedicated men and women, service members, family members, retirees, veterans, federal employees, and others with a commitment to saving lives worldwide. Without donors, the ASBP cannot meet their mission of supporting military health care operations worldwide with a steady supply of quality blood products. Major Joe Borland, 1st Special Forces Command (Airborne), has his arm prepped for donation by a nurse at the Fort Bragg Blood Donor Center during the Fort Bragg Law Week Blood Drive. 

Armed Services Blood Program blood products are used for military patients of all ages and for many reasons. For example, 40 or more units of blood may be needed for a single trauma victim; 8 units of platelets may be required by leukemia patients undergoing treatment; and a single pint of blood can sustain a premature infant's life for two weeks.

On 25 April 2025, members of the Fort Huachuca OSJA joined together with Joint Task Force – Southern Border legal teammates (from the 10th Mountain and 4th Infantry Divisions) for a PT hike up Reservoir Hill on Fort Huachuca, topping out at 6,011 feet.

On 19 March 2025, the Fort Gregg-Adams OSJA had the privilege of witnessing the hard charging PFC McLemore get promoted to Specialist. This was due to the new Soldier Referral Program in which she referred seven people to join the Army in a very short period of time. The honor of promoting her was done by her Military Justice NCOIC SGT(P) Cheaves, her son Mylo and daughter Mila.
