It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of MSG Kenneth Acevedo of Brooklyn, New York. MSG Acevedo passed away on November 26, 2024. He was 51 years old.
MSG Acevedo was born on December 17, 1972, in New York City, New York.
MSG Acevedo enlisted in the United States Army in 1990. Master Sergeant Acevedo's military assignments include: Assistant Operations NCO, United States Army Reserve Legal Command, Gaithersburg, Maryland; Paralegal NCOIC, United States Army Reserve Legal Command, Gaithersburg, Maryland; Paralegal NCOIC, United States Army Central, Camp Arifjan, Kuwait; and Paralegal NCO, 10th Legal Operations Detachment, Gaithersburg, Maryland.
MSG Acevedo was a graduate of the Senior Leader Course, Advanced Leader Course, and Basic Leader Course. His military awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (x2), Army Commendation Medal (x3), Army Achievement Medal (x4), Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal (2d Award), Army Superior Unit Award, National Defense Service Medal (x2), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (x3), and the Army Service Ribbon.
He is survived by his parents, Domingo Acevedo and Lydia Rodriguez of Puerto Rico, his in-laws Bruce and Helen Kozik of Arnold, PA. He is preceded in death by his wife, Laura Ann Kozik and brother Wilfredo "Freddie" Acevedo.
