The 10th Military Justice Leaders Course will run from 8 - 11 September 2025 at TJAGLCS in Charlottesville, Virginia. This four-day course is by invitation only, but it is mandatory for all Chiefs of Justice and Senior Military Justice Operations NCOs. The Chief of the OTJAG-Criminal Law Division (ATTN: Operations Branch) is the excusal authority for mandatory attendees. There is no virtual attendance. Description: The Military Justice Leaders Course provides military justice leaders with specialized training on the effective management of criminal justice legal systems, processes, and personnel. Through classroom instruction and highly qualified peer mentorship, students will learn how to supervise, train, and develop their subordinate counsel. Students will obtain an in-depth understanding of the rules and methodologies of pretrial preparation and processes including selecting panel members, negotiating plea agreements, and working with partners to include the OSTC and SVCs. Finally, students will achieve an understanding of the rules and best practices for post-trial action.
Prerequisites: This course is designed for active duty Judge Advocates and senior paralegals who currently serve, or are scheduled to serve, as military justice managers, in particular, Chiefs of Justice or Senior Military Justice Operations NCOs. Reserve component Judge Advocates, other senior non-commissioned officers, and senior civilian personnel may also attend on a space available basis.
