1L Internship Opportunities and Active Duty Applications Open 01 January
Sixteen teams competed in the 2024 Brigadier General Wayne E. Alley Military Law Moot Court Competition hosted by the United States Army Advocacy Center on Fort Belvoir, Virginia. Teams spent months working on briefs that were submitted before the competition, and then competed in three preliminary rounds in which they argued both on and off brief. Following the preliminary rounds, eight teams advanced to elimination rounds, which culminated in a final round and awards ceremony at the United States Army Court of Criminal Appeals on Saturday, 26 October 2024. The panel of judges for the final round included: Chief Judge Kevin Ohlson (United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces), Marshal Gail Curley (United States Supreme Court), Chief Judge Tiffany Pond (United States Army Court of Criminal Appeals), Magistrate Judge Scott Oravec (United States District Court for the District of Alaska), and Magistrate Judge Grady Leupold (United States District Court for the Western District of Washington).
