On 19 November 2024, at a special court-martial convened at Fort Irwin, CA, SPC Dwayne A. Overton, U.S. Army, was convicted by a military judge, pursuant to his pleas, of one specification of resisting apprehension, one specification of assault upon a person performing military police duties, and six specifications of domestic violence in violation of Articles 87a, 128, and 128b, UCMJ. The military judge sentenced the accused to be confined for 10 months, to be reduced to the grade of E-2, and to be discharged from the service with a bad-conduct discharge. The sentence was consistent with the terms of a plea agreement.
