Welcome to the U.S. Army Trial Defense Service team!

NOTE: Per USATDS SOP paragraph 2-2, you MUST complete and turn in your In-Processing Form with required attachments within 10 days from reporting to your Trial Defense Service (TDS) assignment.

As a newly assigned member of the TDS team, there are five important steps you need to complete before being granted access to the private systems or databases under our control. Please take the following steps to ensure you are properly in-processed. Failure to do so may result in travel delays or lack of access to controlled information.

Step 1: Update Your Profile in JAGCNET

You need to update your JAGCNET account for TDS access. Log in to http://www.jagcnet.army.mil (CAC required); click on your name in the upper right-hand corner; select Edit Profile; once in the edit screen type USALSA in the office locator and select the USATDS region you fall under; update your section if applicable and your office phone number; once complete hit save. Your profile will be updated within 24 hours and your access to the TDS (restricted) site should be visible. If you have questions or need assistance, email: usarmy.pentagon.hqda-otjag.mbx.usalsa-usatds-personnel-actions@army.mil

Step 2: milSuite

Request access into the USATDS milSuite milBook group by logging into https://www.milsuite.mil/book/groups/usatds (CAC required); click I AGREE to enter the site. From the milSuite milBook home screen select Join a Group; type USATDS in the “Type to filter by text” box. Once the system filters you should see the USATDS patch. Click on the patch to request access into the group. Once you have completed these steps someone in the Office of the Chief, USATDS will add you to the group. Please ensure you have updated your JAGCNET account prior to requesting access to the milSuite group.

Step 3: Defense Travel System (DTS)

Defense Paralegals may be required to travel with their Judge Advocates in the normal course of duty or for training purposes. Although having a Citibank Government Travel Card is recommended, you are not required to have one for TDS if you travel less than three times a year. But, you should register in the Defense Travel System to be prepared in the event of travel. Follow the instructions below to be attached or create your DTS Account:

DTS Users: Ensure you have settled all old authorizations and vouchers to include local vouchers and have your losing organization release you from its hierarchy. Once we pull you into our organization, you will need to update your DTS profile.

Non-DTS Users: You must self register in DTS. Log into https://www.defensetravel.osd.mil (CAC required); select the Login to DTS button. Follow the steps to self register. When self registering ensure you select the correct organization. Your organization will begin with DA2200Z70KETDS…. If you have questions or need assistance, email: usarmy.pentagon.hqda-otjag.mbx.usalsa-usatds-personnel-actions@army.mil
