NOTICE OF PASSING – Staff Sergeant (SSG) Cameron Courtney Marshall
 
 
It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of SSG Cameron Courtney Marshall of Stafford, VA. SSG Marshall passed away on April 17, 2022. He was 27 years old. 
 
SSG Marshall was born into a proud military family on May 13, 1994 at Bethesda Naval Hospital in Maryland. He grew up in Agawam, Massachusetts and graduated high school in 2012 from St. Mary’s High School in Westfield. Following his graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army in August of that same year. After Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training, he went to serve at his first duty station in Korea. After he returned stateside, he served at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. He had additional assignments with the XVIII Airborne Corps in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and most recently in the National Capitol Region (Office of Court Administration at the Pentagon). SSG Marshall dutifully served as a hand-selected Paralegal NCO and did so with the highest professionalism and excellence.
 
In addition to loving his military career, Cameron was a huge New England Patriots fan. He liked to play soccer and lacrosse in high school. He loved anything outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and camping. He loved cars and loved driving in his yellow Corvette. Cameron was passionate about cooking and was specifically an avid connoisseur and creator of soups. He made sure everyone knew his mantra regarding his creations, “you gotta let it rest” before enjoying.
 
Cameron also enjoyed reading and having order and organization with his favorite things in life. He loved his vacations at 4th Cliff in Scituate and Cape Cod in Massachusetts.
 
SSG Marshall is survived by his wife, Kaitlyn Turyana Marshall nee Balsinger; his children, William Courtney Marshall and Mya Louise Balsinger; his parents, Courtney John Marshall and Cynthia Marie Marshall; his brother, Collin Richard Marshall; his sister, Taylor Marie Marshall, all from Fayetteville, NC; his grandparents, Spencer John Marshall (Orlando, FL), Jane Linda Marshall nee Gilmore (Livingston, NJ), Richard Arthur Greene, and Nelia Greene (Westfield, MA); his six uncles and their wives; and his 11 cousins. 
 
A funeral service for Cameron was held on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, 186 Shelton Shop Rd, Stafford, Virginia 22554.
