On 13 Nov 20, SGT Matthew Clark, 2-2 SBCT, 7th Infantry Division, was presented the FORSCOM MG Aubrey "Red" Newman award for his outstanding leadership in teaching, coaching, and mentoring Soldiers. SGT Clark is pictured with CPT Rudy Dambeck, MJA for 2-2 SBCT, whom SGT Clark recently mentored through the Expert Soldier Badge process. The award is named for MG Aubrey "Red" Newman, who commanded the 34th Infantry Regiment of the 24th Infantry Division during the Philippines Campaign in World War II and is known for his famous cry of "Follow Me!" on Leyte Island as he rallied his troops.
