Guest Speaker Jean Baptiste Robert of the Monterey County Public Defender’s Office poses with the six winners of the Second Annual Law Day Essay competition conducted at the Lockwood Elementary School near FT Hunter Liggett, CA. The seventh and eighth graders wrote the top three essays in each grade on the subject of the importance of the Sixth Amendment’s guarantee of the right to effective counsel. Mr. Robert also presented a discussion to an audience of more than seventy five people at the command’s second annual Law Day Luncheon on the subject of the American Bar Association’s 2011 Law Day theme “The Legacy of John Adams: From Boston to Guantanamo.”
