Army CIO and HQDA DCS G-6, in collaboration with Program Executive Office-Enterprise Information Systems (PEO-EIS), established a MFA capability to augment CAC authentication in support of the Army's diverse population (i.e.,  Services, Federal agencies, first responders, foreign nationals, academia, etc.). This MFA solution includes both hardware (i.e. Yubikey – a cryptographic USB device) and a mobile application (Army MobileConnect) authenticators to allow Soldiers to use personally owned devices as a second form factor for authentication through EAMS-A. The MFA solutions have the capability to enhance the Army’s cybersecurity posture by eliminating over 6 million single factor username and password logins per year.  Please review the linked documents for more information.
