Announcement of Death – CW3 (Retired) Carl Rickert

It is with deep sadness that I inform you of the death of CW3 (Ret) Carl Rickert. Chief Rickert passed away on 24 September 2016. He was 46 years old.

Carl was born in Buffalo, New York, and retired from the US Army after 20 years of service as a Chief Warrant Officer Three. Carl was most recently working at the Warrant Officer Career College, Fort Rucker, Alabama, where he continued his dedicated service to the Army and Warrant Officer Cohort.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy Harper; two children Ashley Renee Rickert, and Aaron Thomas Rickert; mother, Joanne Rickert; brother, Michael Rickert (Kathe); sister, Carlene Pacholczak (Walter); niece, Anna; nephew, Matthew; parents-in-law, Jack and Billie Harper; uncle, Wayne Brubaker (Sharon); and a multitude of close friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Carl Raymond Rickert; and his grandparents: Jean and Joseph Brubaker, and Mary and Wendell "Ray" Rickert.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 29, 2016 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Enterprise, Alabama. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continuing until service time. Flowers will be accepted, or donations in Carl's memory may be made to Boy Scouts of America.
