The 6th Special Victims’ Counsel (SVC) Child Victim Course will be held 10 - 13 September 2018 at TJAGLCS. This course will prepare already certified SVC to represent child victims of sex related offenses.
Active Duty JAs, CLAs, and SVC Paralegals (Active Duty/Civilian): Send completed applications to the SVC mailbox: usarmy.pentagon.hqda-otjag.mbx.svc-program@mail.mil. POCs are CPT Kezia Manese, 571-256-8126; and CW2 Vanessa Sachon, 571-256-2920 or the above email address.
CLAs must receive approval to attend from Mr. John Meixell (john.t.meixell.civ@mail.mil) or 571-256-7865 prior to submitting an application to the SVCOPM.
Army Reserve personnel must send all inquiries and applications through the USAR SVC Deputy Program Manager, MAJ Angelia Champoux, via email angelia.m.champoux.mil@mail.mil, and USAR SVC Program Chief Paralegal, MSG Beth Kissee, via email Elizabeth.a.kissee.mil@mail.mil.
National Guard personnel must send all inquiries and applications through the National Guard SVC Program Training Mailbox at ngb.svc@mail.mil. POCs are CPT Jason Morton at jason.a.morton6.mil@mail.mil or 703-607-0802 and SGT Jamaal Jackson at jamaal.a.jackson.mil@mail.mil at or 703-607-6875.
Applications must be received by 3 August 2018.
The SVC Office of the Program Manager (SVCOPM) will fund travel for all Active Duty and United States Army Reserve (USAR) JAs and paralegals, and Department of the Army Civilian Employees.
OSJAs must ensure their nominated personnel have active Government Travel credit cards. Nominees requiring funding via a Centrally Billed Account (CBA) must see the appropriate travel official within their respective units for funding of air travel costs. The SVCOPM does not have a CBA to fund air travel costs.
Maximum seating for this course is 60 PAX. Applications should be submitted as soon as possible.
Travel dates:
CONUS: 9 Sep 18 and 13 Sep 18 (After 2pm)
OCONUS: 8-9 Sep 18 and 13-14 Sep 18
*Personnel selected to attend must be available 10-13 Sep 18. Students will not be released until the conclusion of all instruction and course sessions on the 13th. Receipt of the course completion certificate required for SVC certification is contingent upon attendance at all sessions for the entire course.
