On 3 March 2023, SPC Samuel Root graduated from the grueling 10-day Air Assault School held at Camp Buehring, Kuwait. The course was the first held in Kuwait since 2019. SPC Root serves as the battalion paralegal for 2nd Battalion, 130th Field Artillery Regiment (2-130th FAR), and is currently deployed to Kuwait in support of Operation Spartan Shield.
