The 71st Law of Federal Employment (LOFE) Course is open for applications!

The course is scheduled for 31 July through 3 August 2018 (3.5 academic days with a 0800 start time on Tuesday, 31 July and an end time of approximately 1230 on Friday, 3 August) at The Judge Advocate General's Legal Center and School. This course is designed to be an introductory course for Department of Defense (DoD) military and civilian attorneys who are serving in, or pending assignment to, a labor and employment law position. The course is designed to prepare students to identify, evaluate, and resolve labor and employment law issues for commanders, managers, and supervisors. Core topics of instruction include, but are not limited to:  performance and misconduct based adverse actions, Equal Employment Opportunity substantive law and procedure, federal labor management relations, prohibited personnel practices, and civilian performance management. Attendance at the course is by invitation only. Paralegals, legal administrators, and others who provide legal support to labor and employment law attorneys may also apply. Applicants should have no more than three years of labor and employment experience, and not previously attended the course. Since units must fund attendance, applicants should coordinate with their SJA (AC), State JA (NG) or MSC JA (USAR) before submitting applications. Prospective students must complete the online application available on TJAGLCS' public website and submit it electronically. An acceptance decision will be made by the Course Manager by COB on Monday, 2 July 2018 as to whether an applicant is invited or will be wait-listed. Any applicant that is wait-listed will be notified by COB on Monday, 16 July 2018 if they are invited to attend and will receive further instructions at that time.
