The American Bar Association's (ABA) annual awards season is here! Please check out the below JAGConnect links for more information on award criteria and nomination and submission instructions for the following awards:
1) The ABA's Standing Committee on Armed Forces Law (SCAFL) is accepting nominations for the 2022 Keithe E. Nelson Distinguished Service Award (Writing). The Keithe E. Nelson Award recognizes authorship of exceptional, published, literary efforts which advance and serve interests and understanding of military law or enhance status of lawyers in the Armed Forces. 2) The ABA's Standing Committee on Armed Forces Law (SCAFL) is also accepting nominations for the 2022 Outstanding Military Service Career Judge Advocate Award. The Outstanding Military Service Career Judge Advocate Award recognizes demonstrated excellence in service to the legal profession in the Armed Service over the nominee’s legal career (with an emphasis on accomplishments during the most recent three years) and service to the community. ABA SCAFL will recognize the legal contributions of up to one active duty member or active reserve/national guard member from each armed service. Award information is located here:

3) The ABA's Government and Public Sector Lawyers Division is accepting nominations for the 2022 Hodson Award. The Hodson Award named in honor of the distinguished public service career of the late Major General Kenneth J. Hodson, a former Judge Advocate General of the U.S. Army, and a founding member of the Division, recognizes sustained, outstanding performance or a specific and extraordinary service by a government or public sector law office (it is not an award for an individual).
