Sergeant Major of the Army Raymond F. Chandler III was the guest speaker at the 17th Hugh J. Clausen Lecture in Leadership on 4 November 2011 at the LCS. SMA Chandler shared that leaders have the responsibility to manage transitions for Soldiers, and they do this with engaged leadership. He advised the audience to have the courage to speak candidly, both to those Soldiers who have been entrusted to them, and with superiors. Finally, SMA Chandler challenged the audience of command paralegals, senior legal administrators, and Grad Course students to take charge, be responsible for their Soldiers, and to know them. It was truly an honor for the LCS to hear from this Army leader.
