On 5 September 2012, members of the Office of Soldiers’ Medical Evaluation Board Counsel,  Fort Knox, KY (L-R:  SSG Evan Kershaw, Mr. Carlos Washington, CPT Frederick Pressler, CPT Stuart Charlson, Mr. Mark Byrum, CPT Robert Garcia, II, Mr. Robert Kirtland, CPT Daniel Brown, Mr. Chuck Hibbs and SSG Joseph Lombardi), attended the Fort Knox Warrior Transition Battalion (WTB) Complex Memorialization. The ribbon-cutting ceremony took place at Fort Knox where the newly constructed WTB Barracks, Soldier and Family Assistance Center, Dining Facility, and Headquarters Office Space were memorialized in honor of SGM William E. Sumner.
