CW5 Swartworth is the only Legal Administrator to be killed in action and the most highly decorated Legal Administrator in history (posthumously awarded the DSM). Chief Swartworth was selected to become a Legal Administrator in the Judge Advocate General's Corps in 1985. In June 1999, she was selected as the Warrant Officer of the Judge Advocate General's Corps, and on 21 July 1999, she assumed that position, serving as the primary advisor to The Judge Advocate General of the Army, in all matters concerning Legal Administrators in the United States Army. She was responsible for bringing the first joint training courses between the Army and Marine Corps Warrant Officers. This was just one of several ways her vision shaped the future of the Legal Administrator’s Corps. ** In Celebration of Women’s History Month**
