BG (P) Gill Beck presented the North Carolina National Guard (NCNG) the American Bar Association’s Standing Committee on Legal Assistance for Military Personnel Distinguished Service Award on October 28 2011. The award is for exceptional performance in the area of legal assistance. NCNG Adjutant General MG Gregory Lusk, NCNG SJA COL Richard E. Fay, and NCNG Chief of Legal Assistance LTC Elizabeth Smart accepted the award on behalf of the North Carolina National Guard. Also present were 134th Legal Operations Detachment Commander COL Kirk Warner and CLE Director North Carolina Bar Foundation COL (Ret) Ray Ruppert.
