CPT Hector Higuera, Military Law Attorney TRADOC OSJA, welcomes Army Air Force and Navy personnel to the 2011 TRADOC OSJA Joint Service Law Day tours at the Casemate Museum. Paul Morando, Director Casemate Museum, followed CPT Higuera with a presentation on Fort Algernourne. As early as 1608 Captain John Smith recognized the importance of building a fort at Point Comfort as the English colonists called this land. In 1609 they built Fort Algernourne in what would later become Fort Monroe with the mission of protecting the approaches to the colony at Jamestown.
