This spring, about 200 officers from the United Kingdom visited the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth to conduct a joint war-fighting exercise called “Eagle Owl” using a realistic scenario. “Eagle Owl Sports Day Competition” pitted British and U.S. teams against one another in soccer, flickerball, skeet shooting, golf, and the Iron Major competition. Judge advocates helped lead the U.S. team to a 7-1 victory over the British in flickerball. Pictured left to right are MAJ James Barkei (front row left side Green Bay Packers tee shirt), MAJ Patrick Pflaum (second row middle: University of Virginia tee shirt), and MAJ William Brown (second row right side: Leavenworth Panthers tee-shirt).
