Civilian lawyer Stephen W. Smith Retirement
Stephen W. Smith, who served as Special Assistant to the SJA and Chief of Client Services for the 21st Theater Sustainment Command OSJA since 2001, retired on May 31, 2016, after 33 years of service with the JAG Corps in Germany. He and his wife, Anne-Marie, were honored during a Retreat/Memorial Day ceremony on Panzer Kaserne in Kaiserslautern on May 26th. Mr. Smith received the Meritorious Civilian Service Medal for leading the 21st TSC client services team and the Civilian Award for Humanitarian Service for his casualty assistance efforts. Mrs. Smith received the Outstanding Civilian Service Award for her volunteer efforts in numerous organizations in the Kaiserslautern Military Community. BG Arlan M. DeBlieck and CSM Stanley O. Richards presented the awards. The Smiths have retired to Hershey, PA, a.k.a. “Chocolatetown U.S.A.,” a.k.a “The Sweetest Place on Earth.”
