I am excited to announce that with the hard work of our Court Reporter Program Manager and the support of TJAG, CTA 50-900 has been updated to reflect that additional Class A and Class B [specifically AGSU] items can be issued as a one-time supplement to 27Ds with ASI C5.
Army Court Reporter Supplemental Clothing Allowance
I am excited to announce that with the hard work of our Court Reporter Program Manager and the support of TJAG, CTA 50-900 has been updated to reflect that additional Class A and Class B [specifically AGSU] items can be issued as a one-time supplement to 27Ds with ASI C5.
For decades, as the most junior member of our judiciary team, the Military Court Reporter has been vital to the preservation of the court-martial record. They have also borne the burden of spending personal funds to maintain additional Class A and Class B uniform components to meet the required uniformity and decorum to perform their duties in the courtroom.
During my travels this past year, I heard of this concern and asked a few teammates to explore the prospects of getting additional uniforms issued to our military court reporters. What we discovered, and many of you should know, is that many Enlisted Soldiers serve in positions that warrant additional uniform items, and that our military court reporters are not alone.
OSJA leaders at echelon remain responsible to ensure that 27Ds with ASI C5 performing duties (paragraph and line number) as military court-reporters, are provided the opportunity to receive this one-time supplemental issue. Coordination is necessary with parent organization, and local Unit Supply NCOs understand the clothing issue process and documentation needed to meet the requirements of AR 700-84. Supplemental Clothing Allowances for MOS 27D ASI C5 per CTA 50-900, as archived in FMS Web, can be found on page two of this Special Announcement.
This is great news for our military court reporters, and I look forward to seeing them in court performing their duties and proudly wearing the uniform of the United States Army.
