There is life after retirement.  Mr. Dave Riddle, recently retired after 37 years in federal service, climbed Mount Everest with his son Christoph. They trekked about 15 days out and back, including to Everest Base Camp (17,500') followed the next day to the summit of nearby Kala Patthar (18,500').
