MAJ Phillip Lowry, DSJA UTNG, climbs out of the Toutle River Gorge at mile 20 of the Bigfoot 200 Mile Endurance Run in the North Cascades Range of Washington. The gorge is cut from massive ash and landslide flow from the eruption of Mt Saint Helens in 1980. MAJ Lowry completed the point-to-point solo footrace, which included 44000' of climb, in 73 hours 59 minutes and 20 seconds, finishing 12th overall and winning the Masters Division.
