At a promotion and assumption of command ceremony held on 9 November 2009, BG John W. Miller II receives the Legal Center and School Colors from The Judge Advocate General, LTG Dana K. Chipman. The LCS Command Sergeant Major, CSM Pat Lister, assisted in the ceremony. BG Miller becomes the 4th Commanding General of the Judge Advocate General's Legal Center and School.
