It is with deep sadness that I inform you of the death of Mr. Robert (Bob) E. Dunn (Lieutenant Colonel, US Army Retired). Mr. Dunn died on 25 February 2014 at the age of 83.
Mr. Dunn entered the JAG Corps in 1955, and after assignments in England, France, and Germany, remained in the Army Reserve until January 1981. After leaving active duty, he returned to public service in April 1964. He dedicated over 70 years of combined federal service, with most of those years in the JAG Corps, on active duty and in the Army Reserve, and in several civilian attorney positions in the legal offices across Germany, culminating as the Special Assistant to the Judge Advocate for United States Army, Europe. An expert in international law, particularly European SOFAs, Mr. Dunn retired at the age of 78. In 2009, on the occasion of his retirement from federal service, he was honored with the Army’s highest award for civilian service, the Decoration for Exceptional Civilian Service.
The funeral will be held on 1 March 2014 at 1600 hours at the Moore Bowen Funeral Home in Arlington, Texas, followed by an interment with full military honors at 0915 hours on 3 March 2014 in the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
A beloved son, brother and uncle, Mr. Dunn will be deeply missed by many. Please keep the Dunn family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
