Dwight Austin's Retirement
On 6 October 2022, the 10th Mountain Division (LI) OSJA said farewell to Mr. Dwight Austin after 35 years of dedicated federal service! Mr. Austin was the Senior Civilian and Chief of Soldier and Family Legal Services. He spent over 25 years as a DA Civilian in this organization and was an absolute institution here at Fort Drum. He trained and mentored many judge advocates who went on to become general officers and paralegals who became sergeants major. He was the cornerstone of continuity for the OSJA, and his contributions will endure for generations. His wife, Laurie, was also recognized with the Public Service Commendation Medal for her many years of service and support.
Please join us in congratulating the Austin Family on completing this chapter of their lives and beginning a new one. Mr. Austin is now working full time at Jefferson Community College where he runs the Paralegal Program, where we are sure he will continue to train Army paralegals who decide to attend college while stationed here at Fort Drum.
Climb to Glory! To the Top!
