Welcome to 2022 online version of the 2019 Advocacy Trainer!
The Advocacy Trainer as an advocacy tool: Like the print and digital version, these materials are intended to provide supervisors of trial and defense counsel with an informal and efficient means of training judge advocates and assessing their fundamental trial advocacy skills. In the spirit of hip pocket training, this program provides Chiefs of Justice, Senior Trial Counsel, Senior Defense Counsel, and Special Victim Prosecutors with a tool to enhance training conducted on a short- or no-notice basis.
The objective of this training is to maximize time spent practicing the skills necessary for effective advocacy and thinking through trial advocacy issues. Additionally, by providing supervisors with necessary materials, the manual enables supervisors to devote time towards teaching, assessing, and growing counsel in lieu of creating lesson plans from scratch.

Organization: The Advocacy Trainer is subdivided into a series of chapters that focus on specific trial skills. Each chapter starts with an overview of the skill, an explanation of the law that applies to the skill, and then practice pointers designed to assist with the exercises. The online version reconstructs the print and digital versions into a logical web-based layout. There is no need to flip pages or endlessly scroll a giant PDF, unless that suits your fancy.
