250th JAG Corps Birthday Heritage Hike - SAVE THE DATE: 29 July 2025

To kick off the 250th Anniversary of the Army JAG Corps, The Judge Advocate General invites you and your Family to join him for a kid, dog, and stroller friendly “Heritage Hike” on the National Mall on 29 July 2025. Participants will choose a 1.775 or 2.50 mile loop on the National Mall, where they will learn about 250 years of JAG Corps history as they pass corresponding monuments on the route.

For those wanting a more physical challenge, use of a ruck with 25.0 lbs of weight is encouraged. However, this is not a requirement.

The event begins at 6:20 a.m. in front of the Washington Monument Visitor Center with a safety brief and warm-up before a 6:30 a.m. start. Following the event, there will be light refreshments in the finish area. The event will conclude between 7:15 and 7:30 am.

The uniform for all participants is comfortable civilian athletic gear. JAG Swag is highly encouraged!

For everyone’s safety, please bring hydration for the event. Water will be provided at the start and finish point. Limited street parking is available on the basin near Ohio Drive SW or E Basin Drive SW, or on Constitution or Independence Avenue. The closest metro station is Smithsonian.
