On 2 April 2021, at a general court-martial convened at Caserma Ederle, Italy, SFC Kendall Gilbert, United States Army, was convicted by a military judge, pursuant to his pleas, of one specification of wearing an unauthorized badge, one specification of signing a false official record, two specifications of assault consummated by battery and one specification of obstruction of justice in violation of Articles 106a, 107, 128, and 131b UCMJ. The accused was acquitted of one specification of wearing an unauthorized badge, one specification of signing a false official record, three specifications of assault consummated by battery, and two specifications of child endangerment in violation of article 106a, 107, 128, and 134, UCMJ. The military judge sentenced the accused to be reduced to the grade of E-5 and to be confined for 180 days. The sentence was in accordance with the terms of a plea agreement.
